Arnab is currently a graduate student in UBC with a passion for teaching! Being a learner throughout his life has provided him perspectives about the value of empowering students. When he is not doing benchwork science for his thesis, he is constantly thinking of creative ways to get students to learn different topics about science.
Eric leads and supports teaching and learning projects within the Faculty of Science. A few UBC courses he has worked on include Communicating Science (SCIE 300) and Introduction to Sustainability (SCIE 220). Eric also frequently consults with faculty on implementing communication skills instruction into science courses and holds training workshops on this topic.
Ian is the Faculty of Education's Learning Technology Specialist at UBC. He works on the Educational Technology Support team helping to support the design, development, and deployment of innovative teaching practices. With a background in library and information science, Ian researches technology and implement it to support objectives-based flexible learning.
John is an educator in the Greater Vancouver area where he teaches Science and Chemistry at the high school level. Since completing a degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, he has cultivated a passion for learning and teaching through UBC’s Education program. His current career interests include special education and building learners' experiences through Sky, Water, Earth.
Jonathan Hultquist is an education professional with over 20 years experience in flexible learning environments in the US and Canada. He began his career in Hawaii as a marine biologist and wildlife guide and then went on to teach K-12 and adult experiential education programs in aquariums as well as scientific field courses at the university level. He holds a Masters degrees in Environmental Science.
Mary Victor Kostandy
Mary Kostandy is a Phd student in Educational Studies at UBC. She has an MA in International and Comparative Education and a BSc in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo. She has worked as a K-12 teacher and teacher educator. She enjoys learning, using and teaching others about different technologies.
Wendy is a reference librarian at UBC's Education Library, where she provides research and instructional support for teacher candidates, graduate students and researchers at the Faculty of Education. Her current interests include seed libraries, makerspaces in k-12 contexts, and open educational initiatives. She has an MA in Sociology and a Masters degree in Information.
Zoë is a second-year graduate student at UBC. She completed her Masters in Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh in her native UK, and is now studying Chemistry at UBC. Zoë is passionate about communication and education in all aspects of science and life, and has also worked in the outdoor industry teaching skiing. She is always looking out for the stories behind the science, and is excited to explore them alongside learners!
